Robert Plant in Miami
During July in Miami, I'm not sure who was crazier, me for buying the tickets or the promoters for sticking Bella Kay outdoors. Our seats, while close, were not as good as they looked on paper, being at the head of an aisle where there was a constant flow of traffic. The music was decent, a fairly good band. Bella Kay seemed out of it. I don't know if it was the heat or what, but this concert was a test of will. He did quite a few of the songs from the album w Allison Krauss, and his voice is still in good shape, but the heat of the night with no breeze was hard to get past. Bettye LaVette, who was his amazing opening act, I was hoping would do a song with him, but it didn't happen. She needed more time also. Another 10-15 minutes of her would have been greatly appreciated.
